A lot of blogger wonder about having any visitors and ask the question, why nobody is reading their blog. This blogger think that their content is the same good like other blogs with have a lot traffic on their page. This blogger heard the sentence that content is king. Content is the king but contacts are the emperor.

If you don’t know anybody, nobody will link to you. If your page does not know anybody, nobody can write about your good content. If you don’t have anybody linking to your blog, any visitor and any search engine will be able to honor your content, because they don’t know.

Start commenting on other articles and write more then “hey nice article”. The author of the commented article will look at your blog if he likes your comment. He will know you and maybe he will link to you. But please don’t ask him for this. If he will like, he will link. Ask friends if they have a website or a weblog.

Starting a weblog means a lot of work if you want to get read. You have to write good articles and you have to write good comments. This big blogs are known, they don’t have to comment anymore. But you have to.

I will paint a picture to explain you. If a known star writes something, a lot of people are interested in this, because they are interested in the person. If your write something, maybe your friends will be interested in this, because of you. But to write something somebody who does not know you is interested in have to be damn good, or you have to get him know you.

I know, that this practice perverts the word “friend” so call it buddy, or anyhow you want. Just get some people know you and they will be able to judge about your content.

In my free time between two lectures some books to get out of the gray time:

• Wittgenstein - Tractatus logico-philosophicus
• Various - Denkanstöße 2008 (thought-provoking impulses 2008)

Completely different books. Hope one of them will provoke me to say louder YES to life. I started with Wittgenstein but do not understand anything. Difficult book. Because of this I bought it. Go steps further by excessive demands.

I can not help myself but this time everything sucks. Football sucks, university sucks, Internet sucks, Blogging sucks, even drinking sucks. I really don’t know why but I am missing some spirit in these days. It’s not only the fucking German autumn weather, but this grey is getting into my mind. I don’t write, don’t read and the most I am missing a good speech with somebody. Not about problems, because there aren’t any, just a boring time without a light in the next weeks.

Today i finished the book “The Glass Bead Game” from Herman Hesse and I hoped it will give me some power for the next days but then we lost today 4:0 and i was allowed to play only 10 minutes and I really don’t know why. Tomorrow i will go to a bookshop and buy some new book and will hope that it will take me over the weekend into a new and better week.

This week I got a job at my university, the Philipps-University in Marburg. In the philosophical faculty I will take care of the homepage and our e-learning platform Ilias. I don’t know exactly how my job will look like because the professor I had to speak with didn’t know himself. So I will have to go next week to some different person in faculty who will instruct me.

I will work 18 hours a month and I am quite happy about this. It is just a half time jo, so I don’t have to be afraid about time to learn for my studies.

I hope that the job will bring me closer to the professors and I will get an inside the scientific life and work, because I am still not sure about my future. Should I try to be a scientist or live from writing? I still have a lot of time, I am in the third semester, but I think that I will have to decide until studying the master. Then I will not have the time to split my days into university and Internet. I will have to concentrate on of these things really to become skillful enough. Now in my basic studies I really have enough time for both.
